The WKU football team received verbal commitments from wide receiver Khalil Newton and offensive tackle Woody Lankford over the weekend.
Both prospects are considered three-star recruits according to 247sports.com, and each had several offers from other Division I schools.
Lankford is a 6-foot-4-inch, 275-pound offensive lineman from Lexington Catholic High School in Kentucky. He is ranked as the 13th best recruit in the state and is also the fourth recruit from KY to commit to the Hilltoppers.
The Lexington, KY native also had scholarship offers from Ball State University, Bowling Green State University, Eastern Kentucky University, Miami (OH) University and the University of Toledo.
