National stats were finalized Monday when Alabama scored a 26-23 overtime win against Georgia in the College Football Playoff national championship game. WKU’s rushing woes take center stage in a glance at its final numbers for the 2017 season.
WKU finished the season ranked No. 130 of 130 FBS teams in both rushing yards per game (60.85) and yards per rushing attempt (2.02). By comparison, the 2016 Toppers ranked No. 52 on the ground in yards per game (186.36) and No. 23 in yards per carry (5.36).
WKU’s 60.85 rushing ypg mark is the lowest figure in that category since 2014, when Wake Forest rushed for 39.
