WKU had five players reach double figures and the Hilltoppers used a balanced effort to cruise by Rice 85-66 at Tudor Fieldhouse.
Darius Thompson nearly turned in his second triple-double of the season with 18 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds to lead the Hilltoppers. Johnson added 16 points and 13 rebounds, Dwight Coleby and Josh Anderson each added 12 points and LaMonte Bearden poured in 11 points.
WKU finished the night with a 33-of-59 (56 percent) mark from the floor, 10-of-18 (56 percent) shooting from 3-point range and a 9-for-12 (75 percent) clip from the free-throw line.
