Hilltoppers clinch East with browbeating of Marshall

Hilltopper returner Kylen Towner took the opening kickoff back 93 yards for a touchdown, putting WKU up 7-0 with 14:46 left in the first quarter. The rout was on from there.

The Toppers rolled on to a 41-0 halftime lead and eventually a 60-6 victory at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. It was a stark contrast to the 67-66 overtime classic that WKU won in 2014, the last time the two teams met in Huntington.

WKU (9-3 overall, 7-1 Conference USA) won its sixth straight game after a 3-3 start and clinched the C-USA East Division title with the victory.
