“He’s just sorting through some stuff that we have outlined for Xavier,” the coach said.
Sanford said there’s a chance the redshirt sophomore Lane can return to the roster.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound wideout Lane has caught seven passes for 55 yards, averaging 11 yards per game and 7.86 yards per catch. He’s been targeted 24 times and his catch rate (29.2 percent) and yards per target (2.3) are the lowest among Hilltoppers with at least one reception.
Lane is a former three-star recruit from Montgomery, Ala., who signed with WKU in the Class of 2016. He caught 27 passes for 336 yards in 2017 as a redshirt freshman.
