Western Kentucky men’s basketball player Marek Nelson was arrested early Sunday morning on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office also charged Nelson with failure to illuminate headlamps and not having a registration receipt.
Nelson, 19, was booked into the Warren County Regional Jail at 4:52 a.m. Sunday and was still lodged in the jail at 10:15 a.m. Sunday.
Nelson is a sophomore forward from Plano, Texas. He’s appeared in all 12 of WKU’s games this season, starting six, and averages three points and 2.
