Hilltopper program moving on without Brohm

Jeff Brohm’s been part of Marcus Ward’s life ever since Brohm was an assistant at UAB and Ward was a high schooler in Birmingham, Ala.

Brohm presented Ward with his first college offer at UAB, then recruited him to Western Kentucky when he joined Bobby Petrino’s staff in 2013.

“Coach Brohm meant everything to this program, especially to me,” Ward, now a senior safety with the Hilltoppers, said Tuesday.

But now Ward and the rest of the WKU program are moving on without Brohm, who left Monday to take the head coaching job at Purdue.

Associate head coach/defensive coordinator Nick Holt was named interim head coach after Brohm’s departure.
