Western Kentucky’s young team was even younger when it took the floor Sunday at Marshall.
Sophomore forward Tashia Brown – one of just four Lady Toppers on the active roster that returned from last season – missed the game after suffering what coach Michelle Clark-Heard said was a mild concussion Thursday in practice.
But WKU (19-4 overall, 10-2 Conference USA) found a way to get it done without one of its key players, beating the Thundering Herd 80-76 in Huntington, W.Va.
Heard gave much of the credit to that performance to the Lady Toppers’ other three returners from last season – sophomore Ivy Brown, redshirt junior Kendall Noble and senior Jalynn McClain.
