BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — On the strength of top-25 finishes in football and volleyball, WKU leads Conference USA and is second among FBS schools in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup after fall sports seasons.
The Directors’ Cup began in 1993-94 and is a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's national finish in up to 20 sports – 10 women's and 10 men's.
WKU’s 95 points rank 57th in the nation among FBS schools and 69th of 351 Division I programs overall, which tops the next closest C-USA school (UTEP, 85) and ranks second in Kentucky among FBS programs (Louisville, 23rd; Kentucky, 111th).
