Juwan Gardner waited more than three years for his chance to see significant playing time. Now the redshirt junior is trying to take advantage of his opportunity.
Gardner has started five of the last six games at safety for Western Kentucky. He had played just eight games in his three years with the Hilltoppers before the 2016 season.
Gardner is projected to start his sixth career game Tuesday in the Boca Raton Bowl. He’s listed on the team depth chart as a starter alongside fellow safety Branden Leston for WKU’s bowl contest at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla.
