The 5-foot-6 freshman guard from Marmaduke, Ark., was a high school star who came to Western Kentucky and had to earn her minutes.
Bopp averaged just 1.2 points and 7.6 minutes per game this season, not even seeing time in seven games.
But through it all, Bopp’s teammates told her to keep her head up, to keep working in practice, to keep fighting and her chance would come.
And when Bopp finally got her opportunity to be the hero Friday night, she took advantage of it.
Bopp buried a wide-open 3-pointer from the left corner at the buzzer to lift the Lady Toppers to a 78-76 overtime win against Saint Louis in the third round of the WNIT.
