Freshman Brown enjoying great start to WKU career

Western Kentucky coach John Pawlowski says it’s not unusual for freshmen to take time before adjusting to college baseball.

“He’s very mature,” Pawlowski told the Daily News on Tuesday. “I think the learning curve he went through was not the normal learning curve for freshmen.”

Brown has a .352 batting average on the season, which ranks No. 8 among all C-USA hitters. That figure gets better when filtered for conference games. Brown’s hitting .400 in C-USA play, second in the league only to teammate Steven Kraft (.404).

Brown enters WKU’s home series this weekend against Florida International having recorded 15 multi-hit games over the Toppers’ last 25 contests.
