BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – It might be hard to fathom for anyone that watched Western Kentucky and Old Dominion play Friday, but Trey Freeman was actually struggling at one point in the game.
The Monarchs guard started his Conference USA semifinals matchup against the Hilltoppers 1-of-6 from the floor. With 2:52 to play in the first half, the First Team All-C-USA performer had two points.
Then Freeman caught fire like no one ever has in a C-USA Tournament game and ended WKU’s hopes for a championship run.
Freeman scored a C-USA Tournament-record 42 points, 34 of which came in the second half.
