Former Western Kentucky men's basketball coach Ray Harper was formally introduced as the new coach at Jacksonville State on Thursday.
After his opening remarks, Harper told local reporters, including the Anniston (Ala.) Star, that he had "nothing to do with" the basketball suspensions of Hilltopper guards Fredrick Edmond, Chris McNeal and Marlon Hunter following the outcome of a University Disciplinary Committee hearing on the evening of March 16.
Harper, 54, resigned from his job at WKU on the morning of March 17.
“I had nothing to do with it,” Harper told the Anniston Star after his introductory news conference at JSU on Thursday.
