Henderson and McIntyre were both prep football stars in the area. Henderson threw for 79 touchdowns and ran for 59 more as a Butler County High School quarterback, while McIntyre racked up 214 tackles as a Bowling Green HS linebacker.
The two are now walk-on linebackers for Western Kentucky and have secured roles on the Hilltoppers’ special teams units.
The redshirt freshmen Henderson and McIntyre have both appeared in all four games WKU (1-3) has played this season. The Toppers will play their fifth game Saturday when they host Marshall (2-1) at Houchens-Smith Stadium (6:30 p.m., Stadium).
