National Football Foundation Release
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The National Football Foundation (NFF) announced Wednesday the 156 semifinalists for the 2016 William V. Campbell Trophy, and Hilltopper senior safety Marcus Ward is one of them.
Ward is only one of seven Conference USA players on the list, as well as one of 66 in the FBS. In 36 career games as a Hilltopper, Ward has 139 total tackles (including 9.5 tackles for loss), two sacks, two forced fumbles and two interceptions.
Also on the 2016 Wuerffel Trophy Watch List for his community service efforts, Ward earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from WKU this past year and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in the same field.
