Engle picks up 5th Defensive POTW accolade of season

Western Kentucky senior Sydney Engle was named Monday as the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week. Engle’s honor marks the fifth of her career, earning all five over the last seven weeks of the season.

Engle put up big numbers over her senior weekend with per-set averages of 3.14 points, 2.86 digs, 2.43 kills, 1.29 assists, 0.71 blocks and 0.29 aces.

The Floyds Knobs, Ind., native was perfect in service-receive for WKU with zero errors in 19 receptions. She was also perfect behind the service line on her Senior Day with 14 successful serves into play.
