The freshman from Alexandria, Egypt stole the show in the Lady Toppers' 101-58 exhibition win over Union (Tenn.) to usher in the 2017-18 season Thursday night at E.A. Diddle Arena.
Elgedawy scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in 31 minutes as a starter.
Brown stretched out Thursday night with a team-high 26 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore Whitney Creech turned in 13 points and a team-high seven assists, Tashia Brown dropped in 12 points and Dee Givens scored 11.
Elgedawy was big in helping WKU hold a 39-25 lead at halftime. She posted eight points and seven rebounds – three offensive boards – in 15 minutes in the first half.
