Doughty named C-USA MVP for second straight year

Western Kentucky quarterback Brandon Doughty was named Conference USA's Most Valuable Player for the second straight season Wednesday.

Doughty, a sixth-year senior, is the first player to ever win the award in back-to-back seasons. He's also one of two players, along with Houston's Case Keenum, to win it multiple times.

This is the seventh time in the last eight seasons the award has been claimed by a quarterback.

Doughty leads the FBS in completion percentage (71.8), touchdowns (45) and points responsible for (286), while ranking second in passing yards (4,594). He is just the third quarterback in FBS history to have consecutive seasons with 4,000 passing yards and 40 touchdowns.
