Consensus five-star recruit Mitchell Robinson commits to WKU

Class of 2017 center Mitchell Robinson committed to play for the Western Kentucky University men’s basketball team and Head Coach Rick Stansbury on Wednesday afternoon as reported by CBS insider Jon Rothstein.

Robinson is ranked as high as the ninth-best recruit in next year's class and the best center overall in 2017 on 247sports.com

The 7-foot, 215-pound center is originally from Pensacola, Fla., but is now attending Chalmette High School in Louisiana.

He originally committed to Texas A&M where Stansbury was previously an assistant coach for the last two years.

Robinson’s godfather is also newly named WKU basketball Assistant Coach Shammond Williams.
