Whitney Creech hasn’t needed a lot of time to transition from the country’s top high school scorer to a role player on the Western Kentucky women’s basketball team.
The speed of the college game hasn’t been too much for Creech to handle, and nothing has been more evident of that than her performance in the past few games.
Creech scored 17 points against College of Charleston on Sunday and flirted with triple-double figures against Lipscomb last Thursday. The recent boost in her play earned the Jenkins native her first Conference USA Freshman of the Week honor, the league announced on Monday morning.
