Coleby, Thompson nearing end of strong final seasons

The Western Kentucky forward and his teammates have four regular-season games left, starting Thursday night against Charlotte. Tipoff between the Hilltoppers (20-7 overall, 12-2 Conference USA) and 49ers (5-20, 1-13) is set for 7 p.m. at E.A. Diddle Arena.

The 6-foot-9 Nassau, Bahamas native has tallied nine double-doubles, ranks No. 50 nationally with 52 blocks, shoots 61.2 percent from the floor and hits free throws at a 73.3 percent clip.

WKU has made at least one 3-pointer in 965 consecutive games, dating back to March 15, 1987. The Hilltoppers’ streak is the sixth-longest in the nation behind Kentucky, UNLV, Vanderbilt, Duke and Arkansas.
