New Western Kentucky coach Rick Stansbury had a recent conversation with North Carolina prep school coach Greg Primus about his attempts to fill the WKU roster.
Primus, coach of Evelyn Mack Academy in Charlotte, N.C., asked Stansbury if he needed any guards.
And with the Hilltoppers returning zero scholarship guards, that answer was an affirmative.
Stansbury “said, ‘We need a lot of guards,’ ” Primus told the Daily News on Friday afternoon.
Parris announced his commitment during a ceremony broadcast live on Periscope. The 6-foot-1 point guard became the first player to announce a commitment to the Tops since Stansbury replaced Ray Harper as WKU’s coach March 28.
