Mitchell Robinson stunned the basketball world last summer by committing to Western Kentucky.
Robinson’s situation has been a soap opera ever since, complete with “hacked” tweets declaring his decommitment, the cloudy exit of his coaching staff mentor, his unannounced exit from campus last week and an indefinite suspension.
“WKU freshman center Mitchell Robinson has been granted his release to transfer from the Hilltopper program,” coach Rick Stansbury said Tuesday in a news release. “After discussing Mitchell’s future with him Monday evening, we agreed that it would be best for both sides to allow him to move in a different direction.
