Alyssa Cavanaugh tallied a career-high 26 kills Friday night, leading Western Kentucky to a 3-2 win in a Conference USA opener at Florida Atlantic.
The Lady Toppers (14-2 overall, 1-0 C-USA) stayed hot, hitting a collective .388 in the first five-setter between the Owls and WKU in program history.
WKU’s 10th straight win of the season also marked its 22nd in 22 meetings against FAU (8-4, 0-1). Additionally, WKU has now won 26-consecutive C-USA matchups including postseason play.
“We were in a battle tonight,” coach Travis Hudson said in a news release. “Florida Atlantic plays extremely hard and put themselves in a position to win.
