For the third time this season, Western Kentucky’s Alyssa Cavanaugh has earned Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday.
Cavanaugh racked up 39 weekend kills as the Lady Toppers swept Texas-El Paso and Texas-San Antonio to extend their winning streak to 19 matches.
Firing off 6.5 kills per set, Cavanaugh notched seven or more kills in all but two weekend frames of play.
The senior outside hitter got things going Friday night with a 19-kill, zero-error outing against UTEP, for a match-high .655 hitting percentage. The Louisville native also added two digs, a solo block and an assist.
