Brohm: WKU defense has 'upper hand' through two weeks of spring ball

One thing was certainly clear during Western Kentucky's second week of spring football practice: The defense got the better of the offense.

As the Hilltoppers look for playmakers on offense, including a new quarterback, a deeper defense is taking advantage.

"Right now, we're probably on the losing end with the defense," WKU coach Jeff Brohm said. "The defense has definitely had the upper hand, which is good to see from a certain aspect as the head coach. But offensively, we've got to find a few playmakers. We're a little thin at receiver right now.

"We've got to find ways to get some more guys on the field that we can count on to make plays and to continue to develop the tight end position as well.
