Bowling Green natives lead new era at Austin Peay

Junior Chris Porter-Bunton and freshmen Dayton Gumm and Terry Taylor combined for 21 points for the Governors, who fell to the trio’s hometown Western Kentucky 72-55 Friday night at the Dunn Center in Clarksville.

Taylor led the trio with 11 points and Gumm had seven points for Austin Peay (5-7) in its ninth straight loss to WKU (8-5).

Porter-Bunton fouled out of the game with 1:59 to play and finished with three points, six rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.

“It was kind of intense playing,” Gumm said on playing against WKU. “Living in Bowling Green, you kind of want to go back home knowing that we beat Western Kentucky, my hometown team, but unfortunately we couldn’t come up with the win tonight.
