Belmont didn’t reach 40 3-point shots Tuesday at E.A. Diddle Arena, stopping at 36. But the Bruins knocked down 14 of them, including a go-ahead triple from forward Amanze Egekeze with 1:04 left.
Belmont’s hot shooting was a stark contrast to the Toppers’ 1-of-12 showing from beyond the arc. WKU (7-5) made up for its cold outside shooting by outscoring the Bruins (8-5) 52-20 in the paint, but it wasn’t enough as the Hilltoppers fell for the third time in four games.
Belmont led 33-26 at halftime and pushed its lead all the way out to 53-41 with 12:57 left on a Grayson Murphy layup.
