BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- In one of the wildest finishes of the year, freshman Steven DiPuglia punched a single into right field to plate the winning run in the bottom of the 12th in walk-off fashion, giving WKU (24-20, 10-11 C-USA) a 3-2 victory over FIU (22-24, 9-12) in the series finale and a one-game lead over the Panthers for eighth place in the Conference USA standings.
The game was scoreless until the 11th when FIU pushed across a pair of runs to go up 2-0, but the Hilltoppers would send it to the 12th thanks to two runs of their own.
