Baseball. WKU Blanks Lipscomb, 6-0, to Move to 7-1

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Completing the midweek sweep, WKU (7-1) continued its fabulous start to the 2016 season by shutting out Lipscomb (6-3), 6-0, to extend its current winning streak to six games.

With the victory, the Hilltoppers are now off to their best start since also opening the 1985 campaign with a 7-1 mark. It is also the first time WKU has won six consecutive contests since winning six in a row in March of 2011.

Pitching was the theme for the midweek success for WKU as head coach John Pawlowski only had to use five total pitchers in the pair of games, with Wednesday’s starter Josh Bartley tossing six innings of shutout baseball with five strikeouts to earn the win.
