IRVING, Texas – After leading WKU to a perfect 3-0 showing at the Bulldog Invitational, redshirt-junior infielder Thomas Peter was named the Conference USA Hitter of the Week for the first time in his career on Monday.
Peter joined former Hilltopper standout Anderson Miller as the only two players to receive the weekly honor from C-USA, with Miller earning the award two times last season.
In the tournament, Peter had a monster weekend from the plate, guiding WKU to wins over Cincinnati, (RV) South Alabama and (RV) Georgia. He racked up eight RBI, seven hits, three runs scored, the first two home runs of his career and had multiple hits and RBI in every game.
