Adding defensive line depth a focus for WKU in signing class

One of Western Kentucky coach Jeff Brohm's missions in the 2016 recruiting class was abundantly clear.

"It's always important to get defensive linemen," Brohm said last week on National Signing Day.

The Hilltoppers made a concerted effort to shore up their defensive line depth in their latest crop of signees - particularly on the interior, where they were hit hard by graduation.

The biggest pieces of that rebuilding project are three-star defensive tackles Jeremy Darvin and Jalen Madden.

"I think that we added two high school defensive tackles, in Jeremy Darvin and Jalen Madden, that give us size, give us some strength, some girth up front, which is hard to get," Brohm said.
