MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Former WVU guard Tynice Martin was selected by the Los Angeles Sparks in the third round of the WNBA Draft Friday evening. Martin was the 34th player taken overall and was the fifth Big 12 Conference player selected.
Martin surged to fourth place on the WVU all-time scoring list with 1,980 points. She averaged 14.5 points per game in her senior season and was named a second team All-Big 12 selection.
Martin is the eighth Mountaineer drafted under head coach Mike Carey. The WNBA was scheduled to open their season on May 15 but the start has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
