“We had a good weekend of racing,” coach Jimmy King said. “All of our crews identified areas for improvement on Saturday then put together better racing today. While the results are, of course, not what we want, we're certainly pleased with the efforts put forth. We're doing good things on and off the water, but bottom line is that we need to get fitter and stronger.”
On Saturday, WVU opened the event by finishing fourth in the first varsity eight race, moving them to Sunday’s Petite Final.
West Virginia would also finish fourth in the second varsity eight, first varsity four, second varsity four and third varsity eight competitions to advance to the Petite Finals.
