WVU women give Baylor a battle before falling 79-73

WACO, Texas — Alexis Jones had 16 points and No. 2 Baylor won its 54th consecutive home game, but not without a fight.

Pushed throughout by No. 24 West Virginia, the Bears prevailed 79-73, their first win by single digits this season.

Teana Muldrow led West Virginia (15-5, 3-5) with a game-high 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Tynice Martin tallied 18 points, while dishing out four assists. Katrina Pardee finished with 13 points, followed by 11 points and five assists from pont guard Chania Ray.

Baylor (19-1, 8-0) led only 65-61 until Alexis Prince made a layup off her own miss.
