MORGANTOWN, W.Va – The West Virginia University women’s tennis recorded a pairs of victories in doubles, as well as a singles, on the second day of the Little Rock Classic in Little Rock, Arkansas on September 24.
WVU opened the day with doubles play as the Mountaineers won two of three matches. Senior Kaja Mrgole and Lyn Yuen Choo defeated Kansas’ Janet Koch and Nikolaeva 6-4 for their second win of the tournament. Yvon Martinez and Paula Goetz beat Arkansas’ Peyton Jennings and Sasha Shkorupeieva, 6-2. The number one doubles pair of Habiba Shaker and Christina Jordan rallied from behind, but ultimately fell to the Razorbacks’ Ana Oparenovic and Mia Jurasic 6-4.
