WVU Shut Out at Tulane

NEW ORLEANS – For the first time this season, the West Virginia University baseball team was shut out in a 6-0 loss at Tulane on Saturday afternoon.

The Mountaineers (6-4) were held to no runs on five hits and stranded six runners on base. The Green Wave (3-7) scored six runs on six hits and stranded 12 baserunners. WVU committed three errors while Tulane did not have an error.

WVU pitchers walked 11 Tulane batters in the contest.

Tulane starter J.P. France held the Mountaineers to four hits, walking two and striking out four. He retired WVU in order three times and held West Virginia to one baserunner in the third and fourth innings.
