The West Virginia Mountaineers will celebrate Military Appreciation Day this Saturday as they host Colorado at Milan Puskar Stadium, and as a part of the festivities, WVU will don special patriotic helmets in combination with a classic uniform look.
With the contest set to take place just two days before Veterans Day, WVU football has decided it is be the perfect weekend to honor the nation's armed forces. The helmets they'll trot out this weekend represent that, as the traditional West Virginia logos will be given a week off as the Mountaineers' helmets will don the West Virginia state outline filled in with a paint job evoking the imagery of the United States flag.
