WVU Football QB Scotty Fox Jr. Set To Make WVU History Against UCF

Earlier Saturday morning, the news was broken by EerSports that WVU football will be starting Scotty Fox Jr. at quarterback for the first time this season.

It will mark the fourth different starting quarterback this season for the Mountaineers, and the second freshman to start at the position this season. But the other freshman starter, Khalil Wilkins, is a redshirt freshman, and Fox is a true freshman – allowing him an opportunity to rewrite the history books for the program.

Fox, if the reporting holds up and he takes the start, will become the first true freshman quarterback to start for the Mountaineers since Fred Wyant in 1952 – meaning it's been over 70 years since another player has had that honor for WVU.
