The West Virginia Mountaineers have lost yet another running back for the remainder of the 2025 season.
According to pre-game coverage on the Mountaineer Sports Network, WVU football running back Tye Edwards has found an unfortunate answer to his injury issues. Edwards has played just once and earned just two snaps since exploding onto the scene in his first game with West Virginia with a 141-yard, three-touchdown performance in the Backyard Brawl to help secure a big rivalry win. After meeting with a specialist earlier this week, Edwards has discovered he needs surgery to deal with his hip pointer injury and will be done for the rest of the year.
