WVU football flips another 4-star Big Ten commit to move 2026 class into Top 25

The Mountaineers continued their recruiting tear in the Early National Signing Period on Wednesday evening as they flipped their second 4-star commit of the day from a Big Ten program, and landed their fourth overall 4-star prospect of the signing class.

This flip came in the form of Sandy Creek (Ga.) prospect Amari Latimer, who is listed as the 19th-best running back in the Class of 2026 according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Latimer was originally committed to the Wisconsin Badgers, and held offers from countless Power 4 programs including Arkansas, Auburn, Cal, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Pitt, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, and USC.
