MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team closed out its home season with a 3-0 loss to No. 9 Kansas in set scores of 25-20, 25-16 and 25-17 on Saturday afternoon at the WVU Coliseum.
Sophomore outside hitter Morgan Montgomery had a team-high 12 kills for the Mountaineers (5-21, 0-13). Freshman outside hitter Bridgett Talia added eight kills, while junior middle blocker Hannah Shreve had six.
Junior setter Haley Roe assisted on 29 of WVU’s 34 kills and tied with sophomore middle blocker Mia Swanegan for a team-best three block assists.
