WVU Ends Season Ranked No. 20

The Mountaineers’ (13-10, 3-3) position is their highest in the final season rankings since sitting at No. 18 in 2007. WVU’s last postseason ranking came in 2012, when the team ranked No. 21.

WVU ended the 2016 season ranked No. 31 nationally.

“We made up 11 spots in the rankings over the course of one year of training and competition,” Mountaineer coach Jason Butts said. “It’s a tremendous feat. This postseason ranking shows the upward trend our program is taking. We are much closer to reaching our goal of being a seeded team at the NCAA Regional Championships next season.
