The West Virginia Mountaineers were reported to be shopping for new naming rights deals this summer, and it appears that the home of WVU basketball – known for years as the WVU Coliseum – will soon be rebranded.
Mike Casazza of EerSports broke the news on Thursday afternoon that the naming rights to the WVU Coliseum will be sold to Hope Gas, a company formerly known as Dominion Energy that is based in Richmond, Virginia and likely familiar to many WVU fans. The venue will be renamed Hope Coliseum and the money is expected to be donated to Blue-Gold Enterprises, according to the article – which is likely a colloquial term for Gold and Blue Enterprises, an in-house initiative launched by the University this summer to fund NIL and revenue sharing.
