In the first truly summer day at Mon County Ballpark, the WVU baseball team throttled George Washington 13-2 in the regular season finale.
The Mountaineers (34-18) received a big boost from senior Darius Hill, who netted 5 RBIs off of four hits, scoring a couple of runs on his own (including a two-run homer in the seventh). His double career double count also went up to 76, three more than former West Virginia great Jedd Gyorko.
Andrew Zitel also had a big moment in his final at-bat at home. In the eighth inning, he hit a solo shot to left field to leave WVU in style.
