WVU men's basketball is back on top in the Backyard Brawl, and Mountaineer Nation is pretty excited about it.
After the Mountaineers knocked off the Panthers two months ago on the gridiron, fans were hoping West Virginia could pull off the clean sweep in both sports and earn a win over Pitt on the hardwood as well – and a new-look roster led by first-year head coach Ross Hodge did not disappoint in their first Brawl.
The Mountaineers had their most dominant performance of the season so far, running away to an assertive 71-49 victory that saw the Panthers fail to come within ten points of the lead at any point in the second half of play.
