The Mountaineers took care of business against Maryland, blasting six home runs while scoring nine. Pitching ace B.J. Myers threw 5.2 scoreless innings in relief and recorded the win for coach Randy Mazey.
Their opponent in Saturday’s 7 p.m. contest? No. 1 seed and host of the Winston-Salem Region – the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
The Deacons defeated UMBC by a score of 11-3 Friday night, pushing their record on the year to an impressive 40-17.
After using Myers in relief Friday, Saturday’s starter is still in question. I appreciate Mazey not “saving” players, though.
