West Virginia will play 12 regular-season non-conference games, including renewed rivalries with Virginia Tech and Pitt, a three-game trip to the Virgin Islands and a visit to Charleston, West Virginia. Five opponents on this year’s schedule reached the postseason in 2016-17: Texas A&M, Drexel, Morehead State, Radford and Virginia Tech.
“Our schedule provides us with a nice challenge before we open action in the Big 12,” stated coach Mike Carey. “With matchups against Virginia Tech, Texas A&M and Pitt, our team will be prepared for the rigors of the Big 12. We are excited about the upcoming season.
