Women's Basketball Tabbed Fourth in Preseason Poll

Baylor (81) received nine of 10 first-place votes, as coaches are not allowed to vote for their own teams. Second-place Texas (73) received the other first-place vote, while Oklahoma (61) was chosen third. West Virginia (57) and Kansas State (50) round out the top five. TCU (34) was picked sixth, while Iowa State (28) and Texas Tech (28) tied for seventh. Oklahoma State (23) was chosen ninth, followed by Kansas (15).

The Mountaineers finished the 2015-16 campaign with a 25-10 overall record and a 12-6 mark for a third-place finish in the Big 12. West Virginia made its 11th NCAA Tournament appearance and a school-record 10th consecutive postseason appearance.
